Tooting-based property advisor Homes with Chuk, shares what you could buy if you’re looking for more space in the local area...
“This super 3 bedroom home on Streatham Road is just a few minutes walk from Moyser Rd, where you’ll find some brilliant independents, including Next Door Baker. We featured them on Meet The Neighbours earlier this year (go check it out if you missed it) and had the loveliest chat with the ladies behind it, who are going from strength to strength.
“Inside the house, you’ve got space that works hard: an office or gym (take your pick) complete with its own cloakroom, tucked at the rear of a gorgeous south-facing garden. There’s a bright bay-windowed living room, generous bedrooms, and a bathroom with a freestanding tub and separate walk-in shower.
“Add in air conditioning and heated flooring, and this one’s punching well above its price point. Upstairs, there’s also a huge loft with real potential for a further bedroom and en-suite, subject to the necessary permissions of course.
“And the location backs it all up: Tooting (Thameslink), Tooting Broadway tube and Streatham/Streatham Common stations are all close by, plus the Commons for those long dog walks.
“Born and raised in Tooting. Looking after a small handful of homes across Tooting, Balham and Streatham personally.”

Following the sad news that country music icon Dolly Parton has died at the age of 80, a reminder that her legacy lives on here in Wandsworth (including Tooting), where every child up to age five can still receive a free book every month through her Imagination Library.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library was founded in 1995 by the country music legend to inspire a lifelong love of reading in young children, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Young readers can benefit from a completely free, age-appropriate book every month from birth until their fifth birthday. It is open to all children aged 0-5.
The project is supported by funds raised by players of People’s Postcode Lottery and delivered by Dolly Parton’s charity, The Dollywood Foundation.
Dolly said of The Imagination Library, “I have always known that if we encourage children to dream, we give them the chance to live those dreams. Having books at home is the perfect way to open a child’s mind to a world of imagination, and I am so proud that my Imagination Library has reached so many children over the years.
“Now children living in your community will receive the gift of reading. I hope that we’ll soon grow the programme to reach many more children and inspire a love of reading that will last a lifetime.”
More info, including how to register, via Wandsworth Council.
Farewell, Dolly. You’ll be much missed, but your legacy lives on!
