Members of The Furzedown Project have recently been enjoying a range of free activities at Tooting’s Springfield Park, thanks to support from South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust, encouraging creativity, wellbeing and social interaction.
There was a walk & talk with local historian Geoff Simmons (including a happy chance meeting with Dr Bike!), who shared fascinating stories on the Park’s history, as well as future plans.
The Project’s art group got creative amongst the sunflowers, led by local artist Lucinda Denning. And the photography group got up close to nature, sharing tips and ideas. The Gardeners’ Group will soon be visiting the Share Garden Centre and checking out the newly planted parklands.
In September there’ll be an opportunity to view the art and photos, and members will share stories and insights from the summer at a musical tea party at Toast Stores, located in the park.
New members are always welcome to join the Project’s fun & friendly groups and activities! Find out more via The Furzedown Project website – and you can see more photos of the Springfield Park visit on our Instagram and Facebook feeds!
