Congratulations to Tooting’s Lily Bassett, who’s won her fourth European Gold Boxing Medal at the U19 European Championships, at just 16 years old!
Lily tells us, “I’m incredibly proud to have won my fourth European title! It’s something that means so much to me, especially after all the hard work, training and sacrifices that have gone into getting here.
“Representing England in Serbia was an amazing experience, and I’m so proud to have brought home another European title.
“I’d like to say a huge thank you to my coach Marcus, who I honestly believe is the greatest coach in the world, and to all the coaches at TM Boxing Gym for everything they do for me. I’m also incredibly grateful to the England Boxing coaches, my family and everyone who continues to support me throughout my journey.
“I’m now looking forward to my next challenge and continuing to work hard towards my dreams!”
Lily continues to make her mark on the international stage as 4x European Champion, 3x GB Tri-Nations Champion, 4x National Champion, London Champion, 2x Box Cup Champion, 2x Golden Girl Champion, BOXAM Champion, WWBC Champion, Nations Cup Champion, and U19 World Boxing Futures Cup Champion!
Lily’s attention now turns to representing Team GB at the Youth Olympic Games in Senegal later this year.
