Tooting’s St George’s Arts Week, an annual celebration of arts and creativity in the Trust’s hospitals, takes place 14th-18th September!
This year’s theme is ‘Take A Journey’, chosen to invite the hospital community to explore the many paths we take in life, from personal growth and new beginnings to new experiences, discoveries and the everyday journeys that shape who we are.
Throughout the week, patients, visitors and staff can enjoy a range of free creative activities, including music and dance performances, visual arts workshops, curation sessions and more.

🇳🇵Local Nepalese restaurant Gurkhas are holding a special fundraising buffet THIS SUNDAY 13th September, 1pm-9pm, to support the victims of the recent catastrophic flooding in Nepal – & they’d love the local community to come together and help.
The flash floods that struck the Nepal-Tibet border region in late August have caused unimaginable devastation. More than 1,100 people are confirmed to have died, with thousands still missing, and at least 65,000 people – including over 22,000 children – have been affected. Entire communities have been cut off, with homes, roads and bridges washed away.
Now, Gurkhas in Balham are hosting a special fundraising buffet, with all profits on the day being donated to charity.

The Wandsworth Disabled People’s Forum
The Wandsworth Disabled People’s Forum (WDPF), run by and for local disabled people, hold meetings in the borough every three months (see below).
The next Mega Skip Day takes place from 9am this Saturday 12th September, in seven locations around Wandsworth, including Tooting. Skips will close when they’re full, or 12 noon – whichever comes first.
Mega Skip Days are an opportunity for people to dispose of bulky items for free. Large skips are placed in neighbourhoods around the borough for all local residents to use.
The skips are open to residents of the London Borough of Wandsworth only. Proof of address may be required on the day.

Sidequest is a new programme for Young Carers in Wandsworth, giving them a chance to relax every weekend between 12th September-6th December, in Furzedown on Saturdays, and Roehampton on Sundays.
Every session has a one-hour headline activity, with no pressure to join in. If it’s not something that interests attendees then there’s plenty of other activities, including sports, card games, pool, table tennis, a quiet corner to relax, and more.
Young Carers that attend can bring a friend or sibling which unlocks a rewards package including discounted gym memberships and more discounts, offers and tickets for events across the borough.
