Tooting Newsie Weekly Newsletter
A fixing event, a garage sale market, a doggy dash, some fantastic food and drink deals, a chance to win pizza for your street, AND some new openings (and coming soons) in Tooting this week!
Transition Town Tooting are fixing and mending again on Saturday 1st March, 1pm-4pm, at Tooting United Reform Church on Rookstone Road!
Sewing and mending that needs doing and you'd like a bit of advice? Broken electrical or electronic items you don't want to throw away?
Learn how to fix and take back control of your electricals, such as slow or damaged laptops, smartphones, radios, kettles and many of your other favourite devices.
Buttons missing from your shirts? Holes in your jumpers? Bring your repair and stitching projects along to the sewing table. Join with others and do your mending, sewing, knitting and crochet in company – with skills sharing if you'd like it.
The service is run by volunteers who will help you learn to fix, (it's not simply a free repair service). They can’t guarantee to fix anything but, they can look at almost anything you can carry (except microwave ovens for safety reasons).
Do bring your chargers for phones and laptops etc. You take responsibility for your own gadget and data, so please back it up to be safe.
They always welcome new local fixers and menders. You may already have skills, or simply like the idea of fixing and want to learn more. Come down and they can pair you up with an experienced fixer to see how it works and find out more!
Free event, but donations and help welcome!
More info via the Transition Town Tooting Facebook page.

If you'd love straighter teeth, local dentist, Ten Dental + Facial on Balham High Road help lots of local people achieve this through the provision of Invisalign treatment, where gapped teeth & cases of improper bite are resolved using clear braces.
Ten Dental co-founder, Dr Nik Sisodia, tells us how Invisalign works:
"Invisalign treatment straightens your teeth invisibly using a series of custom-moulded, clear and comfortable aligners. This amazing technology helps you get the smile you always wanted without bands, brackets or wires.
"You change your aligners about every two weeks as your teeth move little by little, week by week, until they've moved to the final position your orthodontist has prescribed. The aligners are also removable so you can eat, drink, brush and floss as usual.
"A typical Invisalign treatment takes about six months to a year from start to finish. You’ll see your orthodontist every 6-8 weeks to see how you’re progressing and to be given additional aligners to continue your treatment."
To find out more & book a consultation, WhatsApp 07308716397, call 020 8672 7766, email hello@tendental.com or pop in and see them at 156 Balham High Road.
