Tooting resident Dan Plumb has written and performed a short spoken word piece for Men's Mental Health Awareness Month.
Dan says, "I'm hoping this piece can spread awareness on depression and hopefully reach those who are currently suffering in silence, and remind you that you are not alone and things will get better.
"I'm running 60km this Movember for the 60 men we lose each hour of every day. Any donations how ever little will be extremely appreciated. Link can be found in my Instagram bio.

Dockless e-bike companies will be fined when their cycles block roads and spaces outside underground stations under a new crackdown by Transport for London (TfL), reports The Guardian.
The capital’s transport operator has published a new enforcement policy to tackle the growing problem of dumped bikes cluttering walkways throughout the capital, which will include fines of £50 for each bike found blocking a walkway.
The policy will cover TfL land, which includes areas such as station forecourts and bus garages, as well as along pavements on its red route road network, which makes up just 5% of all roads in the capital but carries up to 30% of the city’s traffic.

Can you help Fircroft School in Tooting fundraise for Ulis, their amazing Lollipop Lady? The school needs to raise £2,500 to fund their school crossing patrol, and they're halfway there, but are in need of donations!
The school says, "Our lollipop lady, Ulis, literally stands in the face of danger every school day to help others cross safely. She ALWAYS has a smile on her face, whatever the weather AND she knows everyone's name.
"She's something of a legend and we'd be lost without her. Ulis doesn't just get Fircroft kids across the road safely, but families from other schools in the community too. She's good like that. So if you can, please consider contributing to our fundraiser to keep Ulis in her role for another year. Or tag someone you know who might be able to help!"
You can donate to the school's fundraiser here.
Congratulations to 16-year old Colonia Benny, who recently skydived from over 13,000 feet, to raising £701 for Tooting's St George's Hospital Charity!
Colonia said, "As someone with a deep motivation for the charity sector, I knew I wanted to do a charity event that was not commonly done in my age group. I wanted to do something that could catch the eyes of many young adults and inspire them to fulfil their calling for the charity sector.
"I specifically chose to do a skydive charity event for St George’s Hospital Charity because I wanted to do an impactful, eye-catching event for one of the most prestigious hospitals in England.”

You might have noticed the random coloured pavement markings outside Primark in Tooting Broadway recently and wondered what they were?
These markings are made by workers who maintain the pipes and wires beneath our feet. They tell those who dig up our roads which pipes and cables run where, and just as importantly, at what depth and direction.
Each colour refers to a particular utility, with red for electricity, blue for water, yellow for gas, oil & steam, green for sewage & drain lines and orange for comms (including broadband). White is the universal colour for comments, annotations and notes.
