Tooting-based Property Advisor Chuk, of Homes with Chuk, is helping clients discover the area with perks cards for local businesses – including Blueprint Café, who have 2 branches in Tooting!
He tells us, “There are a number of delightful independent coffee shops in Tooting and I absolutely love my vanilla oat latte from Blueprint to kickstart my working day.
“I've lost count of the amount of times potential buyers or tenants have finished a viewing with me and asked where they can pick up a coffee (or a Matcha!) before they head off to their next appointment.
“So, I’ve teamed up with Blueprint to offer our very own 'Welcome' card! If you need that little boost before embarking on a round of appointments, or you’re mooching about the Broadway, or heading to the Common for a leisurely stroll (they even have doggie treats!), then picking up a drink from Blueprint makes total sense.
“Your first drink is free – as is your 6th – and you can pop along to either their Tooting Bec (60 Franciscan Road) or Tooting Broadway (162a Mitcham Road) cafés.
“And, don’t forget – we also offer a perks card for Tooting cocktail bar, Goldfinch!”
Contact Chuk for more info – email chuk.agudosi@theagencyuk.com, call 020 8092 0200, or pop into Tooting Works at 89 Bickersteth Road and ask for him at reception!

Always great to have a wander along the Tooting stretch of the Wandle River! This particular part runs from Plough Lane (just a minute's walk from AFC Wimbledon) to Earlsfield, but the whole Wandle Trail covers a 12.5-mile (20 km) walking and cycling route along the River Wandle from Croydon to Wandsworth.
The trail takes in local spots like Merton Abbey Mills and Deen City Farm & Riding School at Colliers Wood. It's packed with wildlife with lots of stops along the way to rest, eat and drink!

Flashback to 1988 and the histopathology laboratory at Tooting's St George's University! This great picture is from a prospectus in 1988 showcasing all the new technology at the time used at the medical school for prospective students. Histopathology is the diagnosis and study of diseases of the tissues, and involves examining tissues and/or cells under a microscope.
The first pathological laboratory was built at St George’s Medical School around the 1880s (when St George’s was still at Hyde Park Corner), although microscopic examination of tissues was done long before that – St George’s post mortem records, dating from 1841-1946, show the gradual increase in the use of microscopes, which were gradually incorporated into standard post mortem practice.
