Three medical students from City St George’s, University of London in Tooting have launched an online programme designed to help students prepare for one of the toughest entrance exams in the country: the GAMSAT.
Founded by Isha Dhanjal, Maya Payne and Mardaan Sha, the GAMSAT Intensive is a live, structured preparation programme aimed at students applying for graduate-entry medicine courses across the UK, Ireland, and Australia.
The course was created after the founders saw how many students struggle with the overwhelming amount of GAMSAT content available online, often spending thousands on courses without seeing meaningful score improvements.
The programme includes:
• Live online teaching sessions
• Small group support
• Strategy-based learning for Sections 1, 2, and 3
• Essay feedback and personalised guidance
• Intensive science revision for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
The team hopes the programme will support more students from diverse and non-traditional backgrounds in pursuing careers in healthcare.
Applications for the September cohort are now open. For more info, visit www.thegamsatintensive.co.uk or email support@thegamsatintensive.co.uk
Congratulations and good luck to Isha, Maya, and Mardaan!
Tooting-based property advisor Homes with Chuk on how pricing your property can be key in a more ‘challenging’ market...
“Could £5,000 cost you buyers? When pricing a home, most people naturally focus on the number itself. But there’s another part of the strategy that sellers (or really their agent) don’t always think about: how buyers actually search.
“For example, advertising a property at £495,000 instead of £500,000 might sound like a smart move. And sometimes, it can be. But if a buyer is searching between £500,000 and £550,000, that £495,000 property may not appear in their results.
“Not because they wouldn’t like it. Not because it’s wrong for them. Simply because it sits outside the bracket they’re searching in.
“And whilst £495,000 / £500,000 is an easy example to explain, the principle applies across the market.
“The question is always: where are buyers likely to be searching? Sometimes, a Guide Price strategy can help.
“For example:
Guide Price £475,000
Offers between £475,000 – £500,000
“That can appeal to buyers searching below £500,000, while still making it clear where the seller is hoping to get to.
“But – and this is important – it has to be genuine. It needs to be backed by comparable evidence, buyer demand and the current market. Because in a more challenging market, small details can make a big difference.
“One extra buyer seeing your home. One extra viewing. One extra offer.
“Pricing isn’t just about what your home is worth. It’s about making sure the right buyers actually find it. Especially if your home is invisible on social media too...”

Ever been to a Sound Bath? If not, HUMM in Merton Abbey Mills would love to welcome you – with a 28 Days Unlimited Intro Offer for new clients (see below).
HUMM wellness studio was founded by local mum, Jade, with a simple mission: to help people slow down and give their body the reset it needs.
Jade tells us, “HUMM is a sanctuary of calm where you can step away from the noise of everyday life, soften the constant mental chatter, and simply be.
“A space where strangers become familiar faces, meaningful connections are formed, and bodies begin to release the tension they’ve been carrying for far too long.
“Because stress doesn’t just live in the mind. It shows up as tight shoulders, headaches, jaw tension, poor sleep, anxiety, feeling emotionally overwhelmed, constantly ‘on’, and struggling to switch off.
“The reality is that many of us have become so used to feeling this way that we assume it’s normal. At HUMM, we are passionate about helping people regulate their nervous system and build resilience to tolerate the stresses of modern life.
“Through Sound Baths, Yin Yoga and Breathwork, we create opportunities to pause, process and reconnect with yourself.
“No expectations. No experience needed. No flexibility required. Just space to rest, breathe and receive.
“Our 28 Days Unlimited Intro Offer allows you to experience a variety of classes and discover what supports your body best. Whether that’s sound, breath, movement or simply having a regular space in your week to slow down.
“Because healing isn’t usually found in one class. It’s found in creating small moments of consistency that help your body feel safe enough to release years of accumulated stress, tension and stored emotion.”

Congratulations to Jen, who recently raised money for Tooting’s St George’s Hospital Charity with a daring skydive! 🪂
Jen’s skydive marked a deeply meaningful milestone, as last May marked ten years since her initial breast cancer diagnosis, and she chose to honour that journey in the most fearless way.
Since her diagnosis, Jen has embraced life with extraordinary courage – from flying a plane to racing a hovercraft, rock climbing, and even rope‑bridge walking over ravines. But the skydive was her big one, the challenge she’d been building up to.
Jen raised an amazing £1,105 to support Lymphoedema research and services at St George’s, after developing the condition two years ago as a result of her treatment.
Feeling inspired? Sign up to your own skydive via St George’s Hospital Charity.

Tooting Resident Alex has once again taken on the challenge of finding a beer for every country in the World Cup, that he’ll drink when the country gets eliminated - leaving the winners’ beer to round everything off!
With the tournament expanded to 48 teams for the first time, this has been a real undertaking ahead of the tournament kicking off tonight, when co-hosts Mexico take on South Africa. Seen outside Tooting Bec Tube Station with his England and Croatia beers to symbolise England’s first game, Alex is World Cup ready.
He tells us, “This is definitely my toughest tournament challenge to date - it makes the 16 team Women’s Euros in 2025, the 24 team Men’s Euros in 2024 and the 32 team Men’s World Cup in 2022 look easy! But we’re lucky in Tooting as there are two great Craft Beer spots (Craft Tooting and We Brought Beer) that I can always use to get things moving – and then once the World Cup starts, we’re awash with awesome pubs and both markets to watch the games.
“The number of favours I’ve had to call in for this World Cup though is incredible - from my Aunt & Uncle bringing me beers over from Sydney, to a friend’s mum on holiday in Curacao, to me paying for a mate’s check-in luggage to bring me back a Paraguayan beer - it’s certainly been a journey and I can’t thank everyone enough for their help.
“Let’s hope it’s more a repeat of Women’s Euro 2025 when I got to drink my England beer last, than the last two Men’s Euros when we lost in the final!”
Alex will be documenting his world cup journey on his Instagram page alongside polls for every single game that you can get involved with.
Good luck to England and good luck to Alex navigating the chaos that comes of teams getting knocked out of the World Cup!
