VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITY – Battersea Befriending Network (BBN), who support people struggling with mental health and isolation across Wandsworth (including Tooting), have a long waiting list of people needing support. The charity is urgently looking for more volunteers in time for their training at the end of March.
Do you:
• Want to make a real difference locally?
• Care about mental health and isolation?
• Have between two and twenty hours a month spare?
BBN would love you to join them – their training course starts on the evening of the 28th of March. It's free of charge and they supply food as well as information, confidence, and community building.
Joining the network of volunteers comes with support, connection, experience, and new skills – as well as a huge deal of flexibility, fitting around your schedule and your goals.
Maybe it's a phone call a fortnight, a walk together a week, or a cuppa every couple of days - befriending can look however you want it to, and truly makes a huge difference to someone struggling.
BBN cover all of the admin and costs involved, carefully considering each person and pairing you up with someone going through a hard time who could do with a friend!
Interested? Email volunteering@batterseabefriendingnetwork.org.uk or fill in an application here.
