FREE All Hallows’ Eve at Holy Trinity Church in Tooting Bec this Friday!
The evening kicks off with a Children’s All Hallows’ Service at 4pm, with singing, a spooky craft, and a candlelit walk inside the church, before heading out to the fire pit for toasted marshmallows. This service is particularly suitable for younger children (10 and under).
Then, from 5.30pm onwards, the church will be open for their “No Trick, Our Treat” All Hallows Eve Drop-in — children, families and teenagers can visit to light a candle, collect some treats, and enjoy a hot chocolate stop.
The church asks everyone to share the invitation with friends and neighbours; if you can book, it helps them to work out how many pumpkins to light (but otherwise just drop in)! Book here.

Tooting-based property advisor Chuk, of Homes With Chuk, has the latest stats on the Tooting property market…
“I’ve had quite a few people reach out recently (thank you!) asking about what’s happening in the Tooting property market, so here are some key stats from the last 2 weeks:
New to the Market: 17 houses & 29 flats on the portals, with prices ranging from £300k one-beds to family homes exceeding £1m.
Price Reductions: 21 properties have reduced their asking price, 7 of them houses.
The biggest drop is £150k, with another reduced by £95k.
Even flats saw big adjustments – one reduced by £75k (original price was under £500k).
Under Offer: 31 homes went under offer, 11 of them houses. 42% had a price reduction before going under offer – a common trend when sellers are tied into longer agreements.
Market Outlook: Uncertainty will likely continue until the Autumn Budget on Nov 26, when Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, could announce housing reforms, possibly including changes to Stamp Duty. Regardless, December usually brings a natural slowdown as families focus on Christmas.
There’s also been an influx of flats (many ex-rentals) as landlords decide to sell ahead of policy changes.
My Advice: If you’ve been on the market for 10+ weeks and aren’t under pressure to sell, now’s a good time to review your strategy rather than slash your price. A fresh approach can make a huge difference – especially this time of year.
Does your home have a social media presence? Maximum exposure is key, as being on Rightmove, Zoopla etc is no longer enough.
The next strong window for new listings will likely be early January 2026.
If you’d like to chat about how these numbers might affect your sale or plans for the new year, drop me a message – I’m always happy to share insight!”

The old Morleys site in Tooting will be turned into a 92-bed hotel, despite a petition signed by 400 residents opposing it, reports My London.
Wandsworth Council has approved the plans for the building that housed Morleys for 70 years until the store shut in April.
Morleys closed the store after revealing it could not justify the funds needed to maintain and update it. Instead, Criterion Capital, which owns the Zedwell hotel chain, will convert most of the building into a hotel. Part of the ground floor will be kept for shops, with the retailers to be announced in due course.

The annual Chilli Sauce Championship is brought together by Pete Ellison, a hot sauce enthusiast whose passion project has grown into one of south-west London’s most tongue-tingling traditions.
The sauces, decanted from pickle jars, yogurt tubs and tupperware boxes, were lined up for the 11th year.
