Tooting Common Bioblitz this weekend!
Tooting Common Bioblitz this Sunday 26 April, 10am-1pm, at The Woodfield Pavilion – all welcome (and it’s free)!
The event, in collaboration with The City Nature Challenge 2026 and The Natural History Museum, aims to create a snapshot of the variety of life found on Tooting Common.
Wildlife experts and the wider public work together, within a set amount of time, to find and identify in the area as many species of plants, animals and fungi as possible.
The event is an informal and fun way for young people and other members of the public to learn alongside experts, and share and develop their enthusiasm for nature.
Volunteers are invited to help at this event, on either:
• volunteering at the Woodfield Pavilion or around the Common, setting up and running stalls supporting children and adults to identify local nature
• helping at the Woodfield Pavilion selling tea and coffee and other various jobs where needed
• providing IT support to help children and adults to download and use the iNaturalist.org app which will be used to record wildlife
If you’d like to volunteer, please WhatsApp David Norman (the organiser) on 07595 765577.
