Over 70 people flocked to Tooting’s Fishponds Fields on Saturday 26th September for their Harvest Hurrah, a celebration of their community garden’s first season! 🍅🥔🌶️
Attendees heard the story of the garden, told by those who built and planted it. An array of delicious foods prepared from garden produce were sampled: squash hummus, rosemary focaccia, chilli and tomato jam, roasted squash dahl, cumin potatoes, blackberry muffins, squash muffins, rosemary shortbread and much more!
Potatoes were harvested, with prizes for the largest and quirkiest, and cabbages were planted for winter crops.
Forever Fishponds warmly invites you to join them at the garden any Saturday from 11-1pm, apart from the first weekend in the month when it’s a Sunday. The next session is this Sunday 4th October. No experience needed, all are welcome!
